Ingredients

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 cup sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 cup olive oil
2 eggs
1/2 cup hot brewed coffee
1/2 cup oat milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp orange zest

Instructions

Step 1

Heat the oven to 350 F and grease an 8-inch round cake pan.

Step 2

Whisk the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt in a bowl, breaking up any cocoa lumps.

Step 3

Whisk the olive oil, eggs, oat milk, vanilla, orange zest, and apple cider vinegar in a second bowl.

Step 4

Stir the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, then whisk in the hot coffee just until the batter is smooth and glossy.

Step 5

Pour the batter into the pan and bake until a tester comes out with moist crumbs.

Step 6

Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out and cool before slicing.
